These are some of the trends of 2009-2012 that I saw everywhere and that people have finally started to drop. This is directed towards the black girls of my community in the DMV area.
1.)Explosion of Asian bang weave- after our girl nicki made her debut in bedrock 2009
2.) Bubblegum pink lipstick on girls way to dark for the color, also inspired by nicki. 2009
3.) Nose chains, inspired mostly by shanell in bedrock. 2009-11
4.) Head Chains 2011-12
5.) Multicolored lipstick 2010-12
6.) Shaving one side of the head 2011
7.) We have NOT yet moved past going out in public with just leggings!
8.) For whatever reason at some point people were really into wearing silly bands 2010
9.) Inverse heels 2011-12
10.) People are still getting tatted in their mans basement.
11.) Swag 2012
12.) Uggs 2009-12
13.) Crocs ?
14.) Shaving all there hair off 2010-12
15.) If anyone recalls the hype over gogo’s 2010-11
